What Milosevic needs is a Serbian version of John Humphrys
Article Abstract:
Serb President Slobodan Milosevic is benefiting from the fact that there is no internal debate in Serbia. Almost nobody really expresses doubts about whether the world is actually as he presents it, and nobody points out the gulf between his lies and the reality he describes. However, it is becoming increasingly clear that his strategy is having an extremely negative impact, both on him personally and on Serbia as a whole. He failed to realize that media coverage would ensure that the whole world became aware of the reality of events in Kosovo, Yugoslavia, and he also misjudged the strength of public opinion against him in countries such as the UK.

It's spring in Belgrade, so could the first signs of a truce be in the air?
Article Abstract:
Yugoslav Deputy Prime Minister Vuk Draskovic has indicated that Kosovo, Yugoslavia, may be permitted a high level of autonomy if the Kosovo Liberation Army is prepared to give up its weapons. He has claimed that the only issue on which he continues to disagree with President Slobodan Milosevic is the composition and mandate of a United Nations peacekeeping force. Draskovic has performed impressively for the media, but it is important to be cautious about believing what he says.
