Article Abstract:
Rank Xerox modelled its new organic photorecptor plant at Venray in the Netherlands on similar plants in the US and Japan. However, the plant is much larger and had to comply with stricter environmental standards. The plant has a solvent abatement system which heats waste solvents until vapours are produced which are broken down by a chromium dioxide catalyst into carbon dioxide, water and hydrochloric acid.
