Electronic commerce technologies and changing product distribution
Article Abstract:
The emergence of electronic commerce technologies bears an outgrowth in business strategies in the supply chain. These strategies define the competitive position and growth of existing and new players in the supply chain market. Electronic retailing, in particular product information, seems feasible and successful at the point of sale, but not in the distribution process. Complex distribution and support systems may take time to establish and standardize; a reality of the uncertainties ECTs may yet face.

Alliances and networks: the next generation
Article Abstract:
Alliances and networks are a common strategy firms adopt to readily respond to market demands. From these emerge virtual organizations which can be successful only if adequate and correct information is fed to members of the network and for as long as participation is alive. However, chances of alliances being short-lived result from lack of commitment among parties relative to control, risk and information sharing.
