Kennewick Man's trials continue
Article Abstract:
Anthropologists are battling with the federal government and Native Americans over the right to study the remains of Kennewick Man. Remains of the 9300-year-old American were turned over to the Umatilla Tribe for burial under the 1990 Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act.

Scientists estimate that discoveries in exploratory field studies will increase the number of known mammal species by 15%. New mammals are being discovered through genetic analyses and examination of museum collections as well as through field surveys in remote area.
