Stormy weather
Article Abstract:
The US, which has lost more than 14,500 lives and $100 billion in property due to hurricanes, should take mitigation activities such as reducing evaluation time, providing last-resort refuge and improving the accuracy of forecasts to avoid large scale loss of life and property. Population growth in the coastal areas, which are vulnerable to hurricane attacks, is the main problem in taking hurricane related safety measures.
