Girth of a star: x-ray oscillations help to estimate a neutron star's radius
Article Abstract:
The development of the Rossi X-Ray Timing Explorer has enabled x-ray oscillations to calculate a neutron star's size and also detect what is inside it. The radius and mass of a neutron star is influenced by the nuclear substance that is within.
