Age-based ratings, content designations and television content: Is there a problem?
Article Abstract:
Television programs that are rated based on age, and content, give incomplete information due to which parents find it difficult to make viewing decisions based on these ratings. Although programs with age- and content-based ratings accurately reflected sexual and violent content, a sizable number of programs without content-based ratings also had sexual and violent content.

ESPN's SportsCenter and coverage of women's athletics: "It's a boys' club"
Article Abstract:
A study is done to determine whether the predicted influence of two women's sports league on ESPN's SportsCenter has resulted in increased coverage of female athletics. Results of the 2002 study reveal that female athletes and women's sports are of secondary importance at SportsCenter because fewer ESPN resources were allocated to the coverage of women's events.

Television reporters' perceptions of how television and newspaper competition affects city hall coverage
Article Abstract:
A national sample of 303 television reporters found that there were variations in the reporterEs perceptions of the effect of television competition on city hall coverage. The majority of television reporters agreed that television competition did not make them report unimportant stories and sensationalize coverage.
