Contested Knowledge: Social Theory in the Postmodern Era
Article Abstract:
Important developments in contemporary sociology are presented in the book 'Contested Knowledge: Social Theory in the Postmodern Era' by Steven Seidman. The establishment of a scientific view of sociology isolated the subject and hindered its function as a means of education and advocacy. Only significant improvements in US sociology are discussed to the exclusion of other world developments.
