Does activating justice help or hurt in promoting forgiveness?
Article Abstract:
A research is conducted that challenges the argument that feelings of justice tend to undermine the propensity to forgive. Three studies demonstrated that the activation of justice increases level and forgiveness, and as per one study, the activation of helpfulness increases level of forgiveness.

The psychology of procedural justice is studied, focusing on the subject's perception of fairness in two types of no-voice procedures. Research suggests differences in the fair outcome effect when subjects are implicitly or explicitly denied a voice in the proceedings.

Article Abstract:
The interface of justice and forgiveness is examined. The roles played by retributive justice, restorative justice and forgiveness in the victims' self-reported changes in motivations and emotions are discussed.
