Operationalising the collection of ethnicity data in studies of the sociology of health and illness
Article Abstract:
This article discusses methodological approaches in collecting data relating to ethnic health issues. The author, exploring concepts and terminology of ethnic identity and ancestry, argues a stronger understanding needs to be developed regarding ethnicity and ethnic inequalities in health, and different approaches, such as epidemiological and structural, need to be applied.
