Psychometric properties of the Chinese version of the Self-Report Family Inventory: findings based on a longitudinal study
Article Abstract:
Issues concerning the reliability of the Self-Report Family Inventory (SFI), which measures the dynamics of family life especially as they relate to family intervention, with Chinese families are examined. Topics include the internal consistency of the SFI when it is used at two different times in the period of one year, factors which indicate family health, and differences in applying the SFI to Chinese and Western cultures.

The reliability and validity of the North Carolina family assessment scale
Article Abstract:
Issues concerning the validity of a family assessment tool, the North Carolina Family Assessment Scale (NCFAS), are examined. Topics include comparisons with the Child Well-Being Scales, the Family Inventory of Resources for Management, and the Index of Family Relations; and the conclusion that the NCFAS is internally consistent and valid.

The substantive and methodological advances in interventive research are reviewed. The conclusion suggests that though interventive research is an important theme, more new programmes need to be implemented.
