The limited concerns of social mobility research
Article Abstract:
Social mobility research can be enhanced through the expansion of its conceptualization rather than an emphasis of analytic technique. The high degree of achievement obtained through advanced research techniques requires broader definitions of mobility and applicable categories, such as gender and type of employment. Expanded conceptualization will enable researchers to account for a wide range of influences, including family impact, historical and structural change and group movement.

Marrying someone from an outside group: An analysis of boundary-crossing marriages in Taiwan
Article Abstract:
A study to examine the hetrogamy of marriage patterns, which is an alternative way of revealing the degree of social openness, was conducted. The results show that a high degree of autonomy has increased the need and ability to pursue love just as much as age, education, ethnicity, and family background but more research is needed on cross-national marriages.
