The prestige of military service
Article Abstract:
Most people serving in Russia's military feel good about their choice of profession. Most enlisted personnel believe they are receiving education that will help them in civilian life, and most officers have high cultural and moral values and strong self-esteem.

From combat to civilian life
Article Abstract:
Soldiers who have experienced combat can best socially adapt to civilian life through state-sponsored programs. Individuals can replace wartime norms with those of everyday reality, but this process will be easier to accomplish with outside assistance.
