Keith Feldmar
Article Abstract:
Conduit Street Restaurants Operations Manager for its Babe Ruth Restaurants Keith Feldmar is already planning to open a third and fourth restaurant in the near future. The second restaurant in Swiss Cottage, London, England is due to open before Christmas 1998. Feldmar points out the industry is likely to suffer during the economic slowdown in the UK. The first UK Babe Ruth restaurant cost 3.5 million pounds sterling to build and set up. Feldmar joined Conduit Street Restaurants after working for Old Orleans for six years. He admits further restaurants may not be named Babe Ruth.

Luke Johnson
Article Abstract:
Luke Johnson made his major entry into the restaurant business when he and colleague Hugh Osmond made a reverse takeover of Pizza Express in 1993. Pizza Express has grown from around 12 outlets to 160 in the succeeding five years, and plans include the opening of a further 30 branches per year. Johnson and Osmond used the same tactics to acquire Belgo and, more recently, acquired Mogens Tholstrup's three restaurants which together make profits of around 1.3 million pounds sterling. Johnson concentrates mainly on acquisitions, disposals and the raising of finance.
