Thai market pressed by Indonesian surge
Article Abstract:
South-East Asia is becoming increasingly popular with tourists and Indonesia is competing against Thailand as the top tourist destination. Vietnam is also becoming popular because it has good beaches, but it needs to build more hotels to become a serious contender. Bali, Phuket, Koh Samui, and Penang are the favorite resorts. German tour operator, DER, offers modular holidays so that tourists can compile their own package from a wide range of options. Trips to the Golden Triangle in north Thailand and into Myanmar are also popular. Most travellers are couples without children.

Behind the futuristic face of Tokyo
Article Abstract:
Visitors to Tokyo can enjoy a variety of experiences, ranging from traditional residential zones, Buddhist temples and Shinto shrines, to hi-tech skyscrapers, neon ads, and heated toilet seats. The Narita Express train transfers new arrivals from New Tokyo International Airport to the city centre, taking approximately 75 minutes. Despite Tokyo's apparent similarities with New York, the former is much safer.
