Constant darkness is a circadian metabolic signal in mammals
Article Abstract:
Environmental light is the time-giver of circadian behavior and constant darkness, which mammals encounter during hibernation, is considered a free-running circadian state. A mechanism is reported by which constant darkness regulates the gene expression of fat catabolic enzymes in mice and it is found that the ability of 5-AMP to induce torpor could be a useful tool in core body temperature (CBT) management during major surgery or emergency trauma response.

Differentiation by dispersal
Article Abstract:
The gene flow among the population is responsible for genetically separating one species of population from the other. Moreover, the population genetics theory indicates that populations which often exchange people from one area to another will be genetically similar but that set of population which does not mix a lot with that of the other area are likely to become extinct.

Undesirable evolutionary consequences of trophy hunting
Article Abstract:
In an evolutionary response to sport hunting of bighorn trophy rams body weight and horn size have significantly declined over time. Quantitative genetic analyses to explore evolutionary response to hunter selection on ram weight and horn size is used.
