Effect of road traffic on two amphibian species of differing vagility
Article Abstract:
The effect of vehicular traffic on the mortality rate of some species is analyzed as highly vagile organisms may be at a disadvantage in landscapes with roads because they are more likely to encounter roads and incur traffic mortality. The results suggest that traffic mortality can cause population decline and that more vagile species may be more vulnerable to road mortality than less vagile species.

Predicting invasiveness of plant species based on biological information
Article Abstract:
Studies show that biological information is insufficient in itself to predict the invasive capabilities of plant species. Coupled with multiple logistic regression analyses, the biological information model was unable to produce successful predictions, compared to other models based on geographic range that had prediction rates of up to 70% accuracy.

Effects of Road Fencing on Population Persistence
Article Abstract:
The impact of the presence or absence of fences on wildlife populations is examined, focusing on the balance between access to habitat range, the risk of mortality due to vehicle collisions, and the level of road avoidance by animals. Situations in which fences are a benefit and a hindrance to animal populations are identified and described.
