'Genetic art' builds cryptic bridge between two cultures
Article Abstract:
A unique exhibition, genetic art, is a combined effort of artists and scientists. The exhibition held at Harvard University in Cambridge, MA, is a novel idea developed by Joe Davis. The exhibition is aimed at stressing the fact that DNA is still a riddle despite so much research conducted on it. The exhibition contains an artistic presentation of broomsticks and colored toothpicks arranged in a helix. Davis however, refused permission to allow the insertion of artificial nucleotide sequences into live Escherichia coli.
