On the spurious occurrence of Tit for Tat in pairs of predator-approaching fish
Article Abstract:
Pairs of predator-approaching mosquito fish, Gambusia affinis, exhibit only a spurious occurrence of the Tit for Tat game strategy. The fish engage in an inertial motion pattern and move closer to a visible predator when a mirror is oriented parallel to their travel direction. The patterns of pair-wise motion reflect a simultaneous by-product mutualism approach of independent orientation to a predator and attraction to a companion. The mutually cooperative joint predator approach only superficially resembles the characteristics of the Tit for Tat strategy.

Fractal structure of sequential behavior patterns: an indicator of stress
Article Abstract:
Detection of stress in female Spanish ibex, developing through parasitic infection by Sarcoptes scabieis and in pregnancy, reveals that stress leads to a lesser complexity of exploratory behavior. This happens because organisms under stress increase their metabolic rate and consequently energy consumption. The study uses a fractal analysis of the head lifting behavior and feeding-non-feeding activity sequences. The fractal dimension of the three measures of complexity used in this study declines with stress.

Fractal time in animal behaviour: the movement activity of Drosophila
Article Abstract:
The movement activity of Drosophila melanogaster has a time fractal which causes Levy flight patterns of movement. Levy flight patterns facilitate effective searching. Small periods of inactivity are present in the activity episodes of Drosophila. The behavior of Drosophila melanogaster is fully defined only if the temporal pattern of behavior is also taken into consideration.
