AUSTRIA: ADVERTS OF POWER SUPPLIER SWITCH BANNED
Article Abstract:
The energy group Vorarlberger Kraftwerke AG (VKW) obtained a preliminary injunction against energy supplier Switch, a subsidiary of Energie Allianz. Switch had advertised electricity supplies at a price of Sch 0.58 per kWh, without mentioning the basic subscription charge. Switch regrets the "unfortunate" wording in a letter sent out in May 2001, but emphasises that its current advert lists all additional costs.
