Denmark: Bilka to expand
Article Abstract:
Bilka, the Danish department store chain, is to be expanded by at least seven new department stores, according to its owner Dansk Supermarked. At present, the planning legislation prevents Bilka from expanding, but Dansk Supermarked expects that the legislation will be changed. The expansion plan includes establishing stores in Holstebro, Randers and north of Copenhagen, towns where Bilka is not yet established. In Herning, Hjorring, Sonderborg and Viborg, new stores with at least double size, compared with the existing ones, will be established.
