Endesa Spain improves offer for Endesa Chile
Article Abstract:
Endesa SA (Endesa Spain) increased its offer to acquire controlling interest in Chile's Empresa Nacional de Electricidad SA (Endesa Chile) by more than $600 million. Endesa SA's new offer amounts to $2.15 billion. The increased bid takes place in response to Duke Energy Corp.'s move to increase its own offer for Empresa. The new offer by Endesa Spain caused many to worry that the company might overextended its capital as electricity prices and revenues are dropping in Spain.
