Article Abstract:
Linx and other open source projects could create better quality software than that produced by paid coporate employees. The Internet has encouraged the submission of content by users. Open Directory is a successful catalog of destinations that is developed by volunteers. Slashdot.org is a site where news is mainly produced by readers. The Oxford University Press plans a complete revision of the Oxford English Dictionary, and could benefit from greater usage of volunteers for this project.
