Marketing in UK sport associations
Article Abstract:
The marketing efforts of UK sport associations are studied. Results show that only a small number of sport associations are inclined towards marketing. The major factors influencing marketing efforts are the size of the association and respondents' perceptions about the spectating and playing status of their sport. Most associations also lack knowledge of marketing and perceive this as a purely promotional or profit-making function.
