ORACLE (I) BAGS BPL'S ERP DEAL
Article Abstract:
Oracle Software India Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Oracle Corporation of the US, has got a contract from BPL to implement an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system. BPL is to acquire Oracle's financials and distribution application software and set up an on- line facility to connect all its 45 sales and distribution outlets in the country. Oracle India has also got a contract from BPL US West to supply financial and material applications. The inventory costs of the two companies are expected to reduce by about 16-30 percent after the ERP package is implemented. (khr)

CRISIL BAGS 3 CONTRACTS TO SET UP RISK ASSESSMENT MODEL PACKAGE
Article Abstract:
Crisil, a rating agency, has won contracts from three nationalised banks to implement its Risk Assessment Model software package. This package will enable banks to shift towards a cash-flow based system of financing from the current system of asset based financing. The software will also help banks to compare the credit quality of the project under evaluation by integrating existing data and supplementing it with industry reports from Crisil Research and Information Services. Crisil has projected that the contracts will generate revenues of Rs40-50 lakh over a year. (khr)

Oracle Software India Ltd (OSIL), an arm of Oracle Corporation, is seeking more partners for its joint venture projects in India. India now has about 50 software companies working as members of the Oracle Value Service (OVS). The solutions developed by the Indian OVS members include applications for select areas of the manufacturing sector.
