Pill pushers: advertising drugs
Article Abstract:
Advertising of prescription drugs is illegal in Europe, even though it has been legal in the US for years. Physicians claim that the advertising will encourage patients to pressure their doctors into giving them medication that may not be right for them. This problem does not seem to have occurred in the US.

Ashcroft's sneak attack

Oregon's law allowing assisted suicide has been undermined by a new rule from US attorney-general John Ashcroft. Ashcroft has banned doctors from using federally controlled drugs to end a life. Oregon state officials say the ruling violates Oregon's right to manage health care.
