STAR TV SACKS TOP BRASS IN ORGANISATIONAL REVAMP
Article Abstract:
Star TV, the Hong Kong based broadcasting company, has restructured its board. Two directors and two vice-presidents have been removed. Ms Vimla Bhalla, Executive Director, Programming and Mr B Guha, Executive Director, Corporate Affairs and two Vice-Presidents in the programming portfolio - Mr Basav Raj and Ms Naazish Husseini-are moving out. On the other hand Star has appointed Rathikant Basu as the Chairman and Peter Mukherjea as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Rathikant was previously CEO of News Television India (NTVI) and Peter Mukherjea Senior Vice- President in charge of ad sales for Asia and West Asia. Mr Sameer Nair, the earlier Vice-President-Movie Acquisitions, has been promoted as Senior Vice-President, Programming. (um)(psr)

RAJ TV's SECOND TAMIL CHANNEL TO GO ON AIR SOON
Article Abstract:
Raj Television Network Ltd of Chennai will launch its second 24- hour Tamil channel, called Raj Plus, on March 14, 1999. The channel will be projected as an entertainment channel with mainly non-serial programmes. The company plans to schedule all its serials and serious programmes during prime time on its main channel, Raj TV. (khr)
