Skofin (Prague, Czech Republic), leasing company, saw a net profit of CEK 483 mil in 2000. The volume of the firm's newly arranged contracts increased by 13% in 2000 compared to 1999. Skofin is focused on the sales of cars of the concern Volkswagen (VW) (Germany). About 89.6% of the 2000 new car leasing was represented by the car-make Skoda, 6.9% by VW, 3.1% by Seat and 0.5% by Audi. The company has nearly a 27% share on the domestic car leasing market. The majority of the firm's transactions are represented by financial leasing. Operating leasing represented only 3% of Skofin's turnover in 2000 compared to 2.7% in 1999.

Nova Hut sees profit

Nova hut (NH) (Ostrava, Czech Republic), metallurgy firm, saw a net profit of CEK 46.32 mil in 2000 compared to a loss of CEK 4.675 bil in 1999. Its outputs amounted to CEK 29.05 bil in 2000 compared to CEK 25.618 bil in 1999. The firm utilized about 85% of its production capacity in 1Q 2000. The reason was a lack of finances. The volume of NH's steel production decreased by 195,000 t for 1Q 2000 compared to the plan. The company solved its basic operating and economic problems during 2000. It decreased the volume of its overdue payables from trade contacts by about CEK 2 bil in 2000 compared to 1999.

Skofin - security that does not fail

Skofin (Prague, Czech Republic), leasing company, saw a turnover of CEK 11.415 bil from newly arranged transactions in purchasing prices excluding VAT in 2000. The result was positively influenced by the higher average price of cars, mainly Fabia cars. The firm arranged a total of 35,646 leasing contracts in 2000. Skofin is focused mainly on car leasing, which represents 95% of its total leasing volume. Nearly 40% of the firm's clients are by private persons. Skofin's owned capital was nearly CEK 1.5 bil in 2000.
