Don't come a cropper, reap those rewards
Article Abstract:
The Scottish Agricultural College brings together consultancy, teaching and research. Consultancy brings in 11.5 million pounds sterling a year, with two-thirds of Scottish farmers using the institution's services at any given time. It has 23 local farm and rural business advisory offices, along with eight veterinary centres, seven research farms and estates and a commercial farm. Around one-third of its funds come from outside Scotland, and it has a strong international focus.

See you, shopping
Article Abstract:
Shops in Scotland are free to open on Sunday as they were exempted from the original legislation. A quarter of shops there do open on Sunday. Surveys show that most of those working in shops on Sunday do so for extra wages, although new laws could end the extra premium now paid. It is thought that people shopping on Sunday are not spending more money but merely buying at a different time. Some retailers employ staff to work only on Sundays, and 60% are women.
