Elemental trials of a lone 'crazy gringo'
Article Abstract:
Bob Kull, a 55-year-old mature student from California who is studying an interdisciplinary course at the University of British Columbia in Canada, spent one year on his own on an island measuring just 200 metres by 300 metres in an archipelago off the southern coast of Chile in an attempt to explore humanity's relationship with the environment and through this gain his PhD. Kull has now returned home, where he has become more adept at socialising having freed himself from a constant need for reassurance, and is in the process of working out how best to record his expedition and submit a thesis to his PhD advisers.
