IMT-2000 spurs changes in measuring equipment
Article Abstract:
Mobile communications test and measuring equipment manufacturers in Japan are racing to develop products for manufacturing lines and maintenance that are compatible with International Mobile Telecommunications 2000 system (IMT-2000) specifications. IMT-2000 services are expected to be available by Mar 2001, and demand for instruments related to these services may increase by spring 2000. However, some observers close to the industry note that preparations for IMT-2000 system specifications have not been as trouble-free as the industry had originally hoped.
