Survival of the specialist; creating a specialty IPA
Article Abstract:
An independent Physician Association (IPA) is a professional corporation which comprises primary care physicians and specialists who maintain their separate practices. Planning, organizing, and developing are the steps that are taken to form an IPA, and there are a variety of payment option models. Recruiting of a main partner, compensation, an appropriate physician mix, and information sharing are among crucial IPA issues that need addressing.

Patient by proxy
Article Abstract:
Cases of Munchausen by proxy syndrome (MBPS) can prove puzzling and frustrating to doctors, whose diagnostic skills rest in their ability to find logical causes for symptoms. MBPS is the name given to the fabrication, by mothers and occasionally fathers, of illnesses in their children. In severe cases, mothers can induce real symptoms, including diarrhea, bleeding, fever, and seizures. It is difficult and can take a long time to diagnose MBPS.
