Actuarial valuations
Article Abstract:
Actuarial valuations are the analyses of the projected cash flows into and out of pension plans. The analysis considers parameters such as the amount and timing of the cash flows, and uses assumptions about the future. Funding valuation aims to determine the level of contributions needed to ensure that promised benefits will be paid, and if there are enough funds to pay the promised benefits if future payments were to be stopped. Accounting valuation aims to determine the true and fair cost of providing pension benefits according to the accepted accounting standard.

Mobile employees
Article Abstract:
The EC single market and the expected influx of foreign investment will increase the number of British employees in foreign companies and multinationals. However, companies which try to adopt general policies and strategies for pensions discover that international regulations hinder such efforts. Maintaining employee's pension expectations when they are assigned to other countries can be expensive.
