Article Abstract:
The United Nations' increasing resort to celebrity diplomacy under Secretary General Kofi Annan is another dimension of a U.N. propaganda project that attempts to construct a U.N. version of world order through shorthand means. Research done for the United Nations reveals that its image problem stems from a complacent world public that needs to be nudged to action by famous sports and entertainment figures but from skepticism about how it does its work.
