Rite Aid busted for selling old products
Article Abstract:
Merced County, CA's District Attorney (DA) Gordon Spencer has sued Rite Aid Corp for selling expired products, including children's over-the-counter analgesics, baby formula, pregnancy tests, spermicides and condoms. The DA's investigation that started in Jan 1999 has shown that about 50 of the company's 660 stores in the state were found to have been selling expired products. Despite having been informed by authorities, several Rite Aid stores were still found to carry the expired products.

Insurers will pay - but ask nicely: cautious handling of insurance representatives and thoroughly detailed HCFA-1500 forms boost chances for successful reimbursement claims
Article Abstract:
Pharmacists can take a number of steps to improve their chances of obtaining reimbursement for disease management services from insurance companies. The first step is to speak to the insurance company before submitting a claim to explain the benefits of these services. Pharmacists must determine whether the insurance company covers the services offered while the HCFA-1500 documentation form must be properly completed. Steps to take when a claim is rejected are also discussed.
