Imported and domestically-produced whiskeys have increased share of the spirits market in the UK over the last decade from 1998. Sales of whiskey from the US increased four times between 1987 and 1997 while Irish whiskey suffered a decline in growth. Meanwhile, Canadian whiskey products have realized increases in sales volumes by about 130%, from 130,000 cases in 1987 to 295,000 cases in 1997.
