J.K. Holt
Article Abstract:
Cricketer John Holt was exposed to high quality cricket from an early age, as his father was a highly talented batsman in the early years of Jamaican cricket. He showed sporting talent as a young child, but did not enter the Test team until 1954. He gained a strong reputation as an exciting stroke player, and was admired for his effortless style. He continued to play for Jamaica until 1962, and later became a selector for Jamaica and the West Indies.

Athol Rowan
Article Abstract:
Cricketer Athol Rowan was badly injured during the second world war, but was still in a position to be selected for South Africa's tour of England in 1947. He took 24 wickets against England in their 1948 to 1949 tour of the then Dominion, and reached the peak of his career in 1950 when playing for the Transvaal against Australia. His ongoing fitness problems forced him to retire at the age of only 30, having taken 54 wickets in his 15 Tests.
