Eric Stanton
Article Abstract:
Eric Stanton was an illustrator whose work was influential, though he never achieved the status of respectability. His work influenced record sleeve designers and was a link between the work of Robert Crumb, cartoonist, and Russ Meyer, a motion picture director. Stanton studied with Batman's creator, Jerry Robinson, at the Cartoonists and Illustratrs School, and he later worked with the creator of Spider Man, Steve Ditko. His work became especially popular in the 1970s, and a single exhibition was held, in 1984.
