Priest William Baddeley studied at St Chad's College, Durham, England, and at Cuddesdon, Oxford, England. He was ordained in 1941, and during the second world war held two curacies in London, England. He gained a strong reputation as a result of his work between 1949 and 1958 in St Pancras, London, England, between 1958 and 1967 in Brisbane, Australia, and between 1967 and 1980 in St James's, Piccadilly, London, England. He greatly enjoyed his public life, believing that priests should mix with ordinary people as much as possible.

Dr Patrick Fergusson
Article Abstract:
Medical practitioner Patrick Fergusson came from a family with a strong medical background. He attended medical school at King's College London, and then served in the RNVR during the second world war. He worked for a time at the Westminster Hospital in London, England, after the second world war, and then set up in partnership with Dr Fraser Carey. He chose to go private when Carey died in 1972, but never charged his patients the full rate. He gained great respect for his ability to listen to others.

Robert Rivington
Article Abstract:
Schoolmaster, publisher, bookseller and waterman Robert Rivington was born in Omdurman, Sudan, in 1922. He studied at St Peter's Hall, Oxford, England, and King's College, London, England, and worked as a teacher before moving into publishing in his 40s.
