India's spreading health crisis draws global arsenic experts
Article Abstract:
Arsenic leaching into well water in West Bengal, India, has poisoned at least 200,000 and put tens of millions of people at risk. Epidemiologists are flocking to learn more about arsenic's effects and revise drinking-water standards. Government response to safeguard the water supply has been slow.
