Common sense as a specific form of knowledge: elements for a theory of otherness
Article Abstract:
The new framework of the biographical method includes issues from the continuing discussion between supporters of quantitative and qualitative methods in sociology. The determination of all explanations via social and sociological construction underlines the importance of a sociology of knowledge. An analysis of common-sense knowledge enables the formation of a concrete model. The biographical method is related to the object which is constructed in secondary knowledge through the definition of an object of analysis.

Biographical socialization
Article Abstract:
Biographical construction is continually changed by new experiences with individual decisions linking different life sequences. Biographical research in Italy
Article Abstract:
Biographical research in Italy can be traced to the 1950s, with critical debate about method added later. Research focussed on historical analysis with statistical inputs and thematic aspects. Biographical interviews had a supplementary role in the research process in sociological and anthropological studies. There is no standard method, and differences abound in terms of the relevance of a representative sample.
