TAT will broaden tourism horizon
Article Abstract:
Conservation projects will be a key element in Thailand's 1997 tourism development budget of $40 million. The Tourism Authority of Thailand is seeking to place greater emphasis on culture and the environment, and is promoting Thailand as a whole, rather than just Bangkok. The organisation recognises that it is important to devote attention to niche markets, especially as visitors increasingly ignore the cities and travel straight to beach resorts.

No reason to beef about Buenos Aires
Article Abstract:
Argentina attracted 480,000 visitors from Europe in 1994, with Spaniards and Italians accounting for around 60%. It is widely believed that the Argentinian tourist industry has considerable potential for expansion, offering both political and economic stability. Argentina is now seeking to attract more visitors from Europe through the 'Network 1,000' scheme which aims to encourage localised marketing units.
